Audubon News
A Red Bellied Woodpecker has been sited numerous times since spring. It doesn’t have a red belly at all but its head is an orangy red. They may be unheralded by the expected woodpecker drilling sound, as they pick at bark more than drill into it. Basin Harbor has been home or host to 112 noted species of birds, and is an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, providing a habitat for wildlife and giving careful consideration to the health of its plants and trees. If you see interesting wildlife please let the Concierge or Front Desk know and your name and your experience will appear in the Breeze.
