Welcome back to Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Sipples and family from Saint Johnsbury, VT. Also returning are Steve and Pat Kellough with their family from Miami, FL . Dr. and Mrs. Paul Alagna join us again from Queensbury, NY and Robert Keren and family join us from Middlebury, VT. As always, we enjoy seeing the familiar faces that walk through the door for another visit.

Kate McCauley and Doug Flippin of Richmond, Vermont, will be celebrating the beginning of their life’s journey together on Saturday, May 14, with friends and family.  Congratulations and best wishes!

Pathways for Children New England Regional CEO Group will be hosting their third meeting at Basin Harbor Club. Pathways for Children is a leader in early education and care programs and has been helping children discover their potential so they may grow into empowered adults since 1967.

Vermont Bar Association will once again be hosting their Solo and Small Firm Conference here at Basin Harbor. This event is the largest statewide gathering of solo and small firm lawyers.

Identive Group.     A big Basin Harbor Welcome Back to the Identive Group who will be hosting their second annual group management retreat at Basin Harbor Club.  Identive is a leader in international technological services. We hope all of you enjoy your time with us!

The Red Mill welcomes back Vergennes Rescue for their annual dinner.

Basin Harbor welcomes the Vert Mont Chapter of IEHA (International Executive Housekeepers Association) as they host their 16th Annual IEHA Howard Center Golf Charity Classic. The Howard Center provides developmental, mental health, substance abuse, and child, youth, and family services to 15,000 people a year all across Vermont.

Congratulations to Peter DeGolia, who will be graduating from Middlebury College this Sunday. Peter and his entire family from Encino, California will be celebrating with us this weekend.  Peter is an avid sailor and has been a part of the Middlebury Sailing Squad while at school.

ACTIVITIES

As you have noticed, the waterfront is under water! The temporary Waterfront Office is located at the four way stop by the Homestead. The map will show it as the Harbor Store. Stop by if you wish to rent bikes or kayaks. Our excursion boat is being held hostage by the high water levels at Shelburne Shipyard so we apologize for the cancellation of the lake cruises. We can take you out on our Whaler if you are interested in seeing the lake at an all time high!

We will be showing movies in the Club Room for your evening entertainment…Check bulletin board for schedule and title.

Shelburne Museum All aboard! Discover the restored 1906 steamboat Ticonderoga as it existed in 1923. Learn more about the boat’s operation, mechanics, its historical and social context. The museum opens for the season on May 15, so stop by and say hello.

Thursday, May 19, Ellen Ecker Ogden’s newest book, THE COMPLETE KITCHEN GARDEN, features garden designs and 100 recipes for the vegetable gardener seeking creative ideas and organic techniques for growing food. Join her for an illustrated talk on vegetable garden design. Ellen co-founded The Cook’s Garden seed catalog and her articles and gardens have been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times, Eating Well, and Martha Stewart Living. Lunch,featuring early produce from the Farm’s Market Garden is included and Ellen will sign copies of the book, available for sale at the program. First in our new “Garden Luncheon” series.
