Basin Harbor's miles of nature trails offer lovely scenery and glimpses of local wildlife, all manner of birds including eagles, deer, foxes, and the occasional moose. We have a special trail guide ilustrated by our artist that shows you the best route for your ramblings. And the lovely lanes of our country roads beg to explored by bike (rentals are available).

Hiking opportunities also abound, whether you take one of our trails or head off-campus to Snake Mountain, Camels Hump or the Adirondack Park. Nearby Button State Park includes a beautiful nature preserve. Vermont's Green Mountains and famous Long Trail, all beckon to the more adventurous.
