The Breezeway Gift Shop will be open from 8:30am to 5pm every day, so be sure to stock up on souvenirs, BHC merchandise and other goodies to remember your summer here at the Harbor. And don’t forget to stop in at the Golf Shop for your clothing needs. For a tasty afternoon treat, the Harbor Store is open for business from 10 to 5pm daily. Have you seen the nesting bald eagle across the lake? Hop aboard the EScape cruise today at 2:30pm and see if you can spot that unmistakable white head as we cruise up the New York shoreline. You’ll also learn about shipwrecks and other tidbits of Champlain history, with the lake breeze in your hair! To see a silhouette of a bald eagle’s actual size, stop by the Nature Center after your cruise, where you can also learn more about the natural history of Basin Harbor, pick up your trail maps, and check out the schedule for this week’s Nature activities.
Do you love to golf? Or perhaps you would like to learn? Join our golf pro Paul Meunier, who was awarded the VTPGA Junior Golf Leadership Award in 2011, for a variety of clinics this week. Stop by the golf shop to sign up in advance for Junior Clinics on Tuesday and Thursday, Women’s Clinic on Friday, and Family Golf Learn to Play discussion.
Oysters are back at the Burgee Bar! Order some tasty fresh ones in the shell from Bryan and Corey, accompanied by flavorful sauces, and try a glass of Muscadet to go along with your afternoon snack! Muscadet, a dry French wine sporting subtle floral, citrus, and earthy notes, is said to be the perfect oyster pairing. If bivalves aren’t your thing, enjoy an ice cold local brew by the bottle, a house-infused strawberry-rhubarb mojito, or an assortment of frozen tropical concoctions.
You are on vacation! Who doesn’t love a pleasant constitutional around this beautiful property? Enjoy the lovely scenery of Basin Harbor by walking instead of driving. But if you must drive, remember to be aware of all our little bikers on property, sometime hard to see although usually easy to hear. And you bikers, be sure to wear your helmets! Safety first, even on vacation!
Basin Harbor Club, once the home of Food Fresh Farm, continues to promote Vermont’s dedication to locally grown food and the farms of Addison County. For dinner tonight, make your reservations for our taste bud-tingling Farm to Table Buffet, held tonight in the Main Dining Room. It’s also our “welcome” time for everyone to be a little casual and say hello to your fellow friends. Then head to the Red Mill for your late-night entertainment by Hot Neon Magic, for a taste of the 80s and beyond!
