Resort News The lake is at its warmest, a balmy 72 degrees. It’s a good day for a cooling swim or fun on the trampoline. Cooler still, take a turn at waterskiing and wakeboarding with our Ski Nautique water skiing boat. Yolo paddle boards are new this season and the harbor staff is ready to get you started. Explore in small craft, canoes, kayaks, Sunfish sailboats or small outboards. Reserve the Tidewater seven-person powerboat and venture further out on the lake. For cool and comfort Captain Brian’s narrated Escape cruise departs at 2:30. Just maybe he will take you to see the three eagle fledglings and the osprey youngsters on Otter Creek.
What could be better on a hot day than a seat in the shade, a great lake view and an ice cream cone in your hand. Stop by the Harbor Store where you’ll find a treasure trove of goodies including soft and hard icecream, milkshakes and
ice-cream novelties at the ice cream bar, cold drinks, candies galore, water toys, logo tees and lots more to brouse.
Brent Gerber, assistant maitre d’,and the Main Dining Room crew have been entertained by the antics of a young rabbit hoping on their lawn and in their garden for the past few weeks. Brent has missed seeing him for the last few days but hopefully noted that the bunny was getting to an age he could be moving on.
Basin Harbor’s grounds have been designated an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Wildlife Preserve. Please let the concierge or the front desk know if you spot any unusual wildlife and your name and experience will appear in the Breeze.
Enjoy yourself safely and remember your helmet when bicycling? And when driving pleas take it slow to avoid stolling guests, bicyclists, playing children, guest pets, bustling staff and our valued wildlife.
