Stakes were high for Bingo on Thursday! Our first game went to Josh Krulewitz from West Hartford, CT, followed by a Picture Frame win for Emma Palitz of Mt. Kisco, NY. Carol Jakubik from Lake Forest, IL took the prize for Postage Stamp, while the High Stakes pot went to Sam Sawyer from Bethlehem, PA. Our X Marks the Spot champion Caroline Schroeder from Montclair, NJ stole away with $190 smackers, and Lucas Puttre from Madrid, Spain scored a whopping $240 for his Stand Up Sit Down victory. Our Blackout jackpot stood at a mindblowing $330, but alas was split between our record-breaking FOUR winners, Isabel Filippone of Katonah, NY, Amy Decola from Wilton, CT, Mike Cronin of Fairfield, CT, and Mason Yanover from Wilmette, IL. Congrats to all our lucky Bingo players!
Who is pollinating Basin Harbor’s beautiful gardens? If you are curious about the fascinating world of honeybees, let Peter Morris tell you all about them. He will be giving a special tour of his personal apiary tomorrow afternoon. Sign up with the concierge, as space is limited, and please refrain from wearing any fragrances, especially banana! Peter will tell you why.
Today, hop on board the EScape for our ROV Shipwreck Cruise at 11am, a very special opportunity with the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum to explore underwater ship remains with the help of ROV equipment and an expert from the museum! Sign up with the concierge in advance.
If you are looking for a treat for the palate and the ears, tickets are still available for Basin Harbor’s own music and food festival, BBQ Bonanza! The festival takes place right outside the Red Mill this afternoon and throughout the entire evening, kicking off at 4pm. In addition to a BBQ cook-off and plenty of fixins’, you can expect to find a local beer tent, specialty cocktails like a Cactus Bite, Ribshack Shandy, and Bourbon Bellini, a whole lineup of fantastic bands from Burlington and surrounding areas, henna, facepainting, and—are you ready for this?—a mechanical bull! Yes, that’s right. Come down and have yourself some fun! Then stick around afterward for more live music from Salad Days at the Red Mill.
Quote of the Day:
“A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.”
