Local Weather (Subject to Change!)
A beautiful day is in store for us at the Harbor, with a high of 73 degrees and some good old-fashioned sunshine. Plenty of stars will be visible on this mostly clear night.
Basin Harbor is delighted to welcome our returning guests today! From Washington, DC we are glad to see Lisa Costello again this season. Robert & Sarah Becker-Zimmerman are here from Larchmont, NY with Julia—how nice to see you all! We welcome the Bitetti Family from New York, Montreal, Wellesley, MA and Belmont, MA. Have a wonderful time together at Basin Harbor Club!
Today marks a special occasion for Frank & Cathy Nash of Rowayton, CT, who are here at the Harbor celebrating their 26th Anniversary. Happy Anniversary! We wish you many more wonderful years together.
Last chance to jump aboard a Longboat built at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and do a bit of historic rowing! Join Matt this morning for one of two rowing sessions, where you’ll get to experience what it was like in Cornwall, England to head into the open water with your rowing team and coxswain. This unique opportunity is open to all levels of rowers. Check in with the concierge and get out on the water!
If you didn’t get the chance to meet Peter Morris’ honey bees on Sunday, sign up today for the afternoon Apiary Tour and learn all about these fascination insects! Speaking of nature, the staghorn sumac is in bloom, and that means it’s time to make sumac kool-aid! To pick up a few fun recipes for local wild edibles and to learn more about Basin Harbor’s vast array of flora and fauna, head to the Nature Center and get the scoop! While you’re there, check out our displays about bugs, shipwrecks, Lake Champlain geology, and the legend of Champ! Pick up your trail maps, cycling maps, and hiking guides, as well.
For the active Basin Harborites in our crowd, don’t miss the Basin Harbor Triathlon this afternoon! Challenge yourself on this fun event that will have you swimming, biking, and running around BHC property. Grab a friend or family member for a team, or do all three legs on your own. Meet down at the waterfront at 1:45pm with a bike and helmet and a competitive spirit!
If you have already been so active that it’s time for a massage, we can arrange the perfect one! Choose from a whole menu of fabulous pampering options from our Blue Chair Day Spa massage therapists Kate and Patti. See the concierge to set up your treatments, with openings still available for today!
A slideshow of the candid images captured this week will be running this afternoon in the Ranger Room. Don’t forget to pick up a card at the concierge desk with information and the password on how to view and purchase your images online. Or stop by the Club Room tomorrow from 12-2 pm to order your images in advance.
Basin Harbor has activities for the whole family! Remember that resort-wide activities for the day are printed on the back of the daily Breeze, while the kids’ program schedule of events is listed separately on the back of the Weekly Schedule, available at the Front Desk and posted on the bulletin board in the lobby. Don’t miss out!
The Town Hall will be brimming over with excitement for Basin Harbor’s favorite game, BINGO! Who will take home the jackpot tonight?
Have some extra time on Saturday afternoon? Consider sticking around BHC for a once-in-a-summer opportunity to attend our first annual BBQ Bonanza! This festival includes a stellar lineup of local musicians like Waylon Speed, the DuPont Brothers, and Patrick Fitzimmons. A BHC BBQ cook-off, henna, beautiful weather, and tons of fun for the whole family are on the roster. Purchase your tickets online at www.basinharbor.com/bbq.
