Today marks the beginning of Abenaki Heritage Weekend at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum! This is a weekend of arts, music, dance, and life ways presented in partnership with the Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs. Vermont’s Native people present their own history and culture at this lively weekend that engages all ages. Native experts share songs, drumming, storytelling, dancing, games, and food preparation. Members of the Vermont Abenaki Artists Association display and demonstrate outstanding work in media including beading, quillwork, basketry, pottery, and woodwork. Special Event admission: $5/adults, $3/ages 6-17, ages 5 and under free, thanks to an anonymous donor.

Thursday night was certainly exciting with lots of winners at bingo! John Solinger took home the prize for Regular and Postage Stamp bingo. Jane Maltby snagged the Picture Frame and Robin Snyder found X-Marks the Spot! Highstakes went to Sam Mazo and Ellie from Boston won Losers. But Charlotte from Maine won the gold with Blackout! Congratulations to everyone!
