In Memory of Jane Maloney
Posted on February 3, 2009
Our cousin passed away last week after a 20-year battle with MS. Jane was witty and bright, loved a good book and glass of wine. She was always planting interesting bulbs and flowers in her garden. She loved to cook Chinese food. She took a vacation white water rafting down the Grand Canyon, and visited butterfly gardens in Arizona, all the more interesting because whe really wasn’t an outdoor adventure kind of person. She loved a good bargain at antiques auctions. Jane loved to get out on Lake Champlain, and particularly to waterski.
More recently, she enjoyed ebay and was addicted to online solitaire. Throughout her life with MS, she never lost her considerable sense of humor and never complained. She fought the good fight until she was simply too tired to go on. She has left a gaping hole in our lives, not to mention the institutional memory of things like the names of the stories our grandmother read to us, and where the wildflowers grow.
Take time today to hug someone you love, and consider all that you share together.
