Congratulations to all who completed the 3rd annual Basin Harbor Triathlon! The skies parted in time for us to have a wonderful race. Our winners this week in the male division are “Team StimpVatch” consisting of Teddy Vatcher and Alex Stimpson with a time of 18:26. It’s going to be a great day to explore the outdoors! Head over to the Waterfront to rent some boats and get out on the water. There are kayaks and canoes and tubing, oh my! Swim out to the trampoline in the Harbor and jump around a little. Or try out the croquet set for some friendly competition. Work on your Putting at the Golf Clinic this afternoon, or any other skills you may need some practice with. Or grab some friends to play a round.
Chat it up with Bob Beach as he regales you with the history of our lovely Basin Harbor Club. Or just take a stroll through the beautiful gardens. Grab a trail map from the Concierge and tour the property and Button Bay! Feeling like more of a challenge? We have maps to other trails in the area. Climb near-by Snake Mountain or head over to Middlebury and walk along the 16-mile “Trail Around Middlebury” (or TAM).
Did you know that Native Americans have been continuously living in the Champlain Valley for 11,300 years? Find out more at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum! Today and tomorrow Matt Witten and Ben Mayock will be sharing their knowledge of wildlife, ecology and history on an excursion to an ancient Native American village near the confluence of Dead Creek and Otter Creek. Join them for Paddle to Prehistory from 9:30-12:30. Call 475-2022 to reserve your spot!
You may see our BHC Ambassador, Sadie, roaming around property this afternoon. She will be wearing a coral polo. Seek her out if you have questions about resort programming, activities or just want to say hi!
Feeling light on your feet tonight? Make a reservation for Dinner & Dancing in the Main Dining Room. The Hallmark Swing Quartet will be here to get you into the swing of things! Looking for a mellow evening out? Head over to Lincoln Peak Vineyard to enjoy their Wine Down Friday music series. The Bob MacKenzie Blues Band will be playing tonight. So bring a picnic to spread on the grass and some good friends to sip with at this free event! Music begins at 6pm, open for picnicking at 5:30.
Gather around the Campfire tonight for S’mores and fun! Crispy or just barely browned, all marshmallow tastes are welcome. Share some campfire stories or just sit and savor the sweet deliciousness of a well-deserved S’more!
