Basin Harbor's miles of nature trails offer lovely scenery and glimpses of local wildlife, all manner of birds including eagles, deer, foxes, and the occasional moose. And the lovely lanes of our country roads beg to explored by bike (rentals are available) or on your morning jog. For you runners, The Basin Harbor 5K is an annual event the second weekend in June. Hiking opportunities also abound, whether you take one of our trails or head off-campus. Nearby Button State Park includes a beautiful nature preserve. Vermont's Green Mountains and famous Long Trail as well as the Adirondacks across the lake all beckon to the more adventurous.
To keep in serious shape, head to our fitness center with cardiovascular, Fitness Interval Training (FIT) and weight-training equipment. A fitness trainer is on-staff to help create a weekly program and continue with your chosen method of workout. Our selection of studio classes include Pilates and yoga as well as outdoor sessions utilizing the natural landscape as much as possible with Nordic Walking, Tai Chi on the dock and more.
